Hope For Haiti

The late Dr. Ray Krueger and his wife, Connie met Pastor Fred Fils Aime multiple times on medical mission trips to Haiti in 2010 after the earthquake and cholera outbreak.

They stayed in touch with Pastor Fred and were blessed to build an orphanage in the slums of Citi Soleil, which Pastor Fred and his wife Elistine managed. Then five years ago, a small Christian school was started for 50 children in the church of a remote village called Feja which is near Mirabalais.

Recently, Connie joined “Hope in Christ – Haiti Outreach” a 501(c)3 nonprofit group made up of people who desire to help with the spiritual, educational and physical needs of the poor in Haiti. In 2021, “Hope in Christ” raised support to build a school to expand education to 100 children in the village of Feja. A high-protein lunch is also provided to the children each day.

Due to increased gang activity in Citi Soleil, it became clear the orphans were in great danger living there.  The Lord provided funds for a children’s home to be built near the new school in Feja. Pastor Fred, his family and the orphans moved in the fall of 2021.

Recently a large garden plot was purchased near the children’s home along with a cow, goats and chickens.  These things will help them to achieve independence, which is the ultimate goal.

A feeding program was started over two years ago to help this village.  With the establishment of a garden, we hope to teach the people skills in growing vegetables for their families and hopefully be able to sell them.  This will help to feed their families and give them an income.
