Hope of Africa was founded by Heather Lytle. As a young adult, Heather worked for an international choir organization. Her job was to shepherd children orphaned by AIDS as they sung in a choir to raise money for countless children in this dire situation. Suddenly, the choral organization folded, leaving dozens of children in her care without a home, parent, or caretaker. Heather worked on the ground to help these children, working to comfort, counsel, and advocate for them. Over time, the Lord gathered many partners, and to this day her many children are now working as disciple makers in Africa and the middle east. They have gained work skills, become parents, gone to university, and work in government and industry as sustainable members of the body of Christ.
The ”Hope of Africa Youth” is the working of the Great Commission ordained by Jesus Christ: The Gospel is preached, the teachings of Jesus are modeled and championed, and leaders are raised up “to disciple the next generation of Christ centered leaders who will transform communities.”
The pillars of Hope of Africa involve empowering youth, equipping the church, restoring families, and advocating for the vulnerable in Africa. They strive to see young people become leaders in their families and their communities.
The partnership between Living Hope Community Church and Hope of Africa means we are helping provide these youth with hope and a brighter future.
Hope of Africa has purchased a building in South Africa that serves as a permanent ministry base. This allows them to create sustainability for the ministry by operating several small businesses out of it.
These small businesses fund ministry expenses and allows them to employ more of their students. This accelerates the impact, allowing Hope of Africa Youth to equip more young leaders to transform their communities in Africa and beyond!
Please Pray for Heather, the founder, as she ministers to her now grown children (many dozens) and works to establish indigenous leadership throughout Kenya, Uganda, and South Africa. Please also pray for guidance as to how the Lord wants to use Living Hope Community Church in partnership with this organization. Also pray for Heather that God would open the door for her to come to the US this summer to keep up her Nurse Practitioner License.
